Doris Faye Drake

July 6, 1929 - September 16, 2013

Our loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother has gone to take her place to be with our Lord.

Doris was born in Pittsburg, Kansas, and right in the beginning of the Great Depression. After graduating out of 8th grade, and at the age of 13, she left a poor home life to go to work on her own. She became a waitress in a diner in Anderson, Missouri. It was there that she met her future husband, Harold Glen Drake. They married in 1946, and came to California to start a new life. As her husband worked in construction and farming, Doris worked at Tri-Valley Plant Growers, in Ceres, for many years.

Her favorite past times were being with her family and reading. She especially loved to read magazines, the Modesto Bee, and the Bible.

She will be missed by her loving husband, Harold Drake of Hughson; children, Dennis Drake of Ceres, Linda Casey of Catheys Valley, and Debra Drake of Modesto; 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

A graveside funeral will be held on Friday, September 20th, at 10:00a.m. at Lakewood Memorial Park 900 Santa Fe Avenue, Hughson, Califonia. Lakewood Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.
