Dorothy Jane Kilgore Welch

Dorothy Jane Welch was born in Poteau, Oklahoma to Clarence Charles “Jake” Kilgore and Mae Marie Camp Kilgore on Thursday, June 3, 1943. Dorothy was a beautician by trade and was a celebrated part of her Modesto community by being crowned Miss Modesto in 1961. She later worked for State Farm Insurance for many years and was a home maker at the same time. She was an avid seamstress and was extremely creative. She enjoyed helping to plan and decorate for events and special occasions. Dorothy is survived by her husband of 50 years, Thomas Richard Welch of Modesto, daughter, Jaymee Marie (John) Loverin of Valley Springs, CA., son, Thomas Victor Welch of Roachdale, IN., grandchildren: Thomas Jacob Welch, Kathryn Jean Welch, Nathan Michael Loverin, and Sheridan Marie Loverin, Brothers: Charles Edward (Pat) Kilgore, Jerry Lee (Barbara) Kilgore, sister, Ann Marie (Jack) Avalos, sister-in-law, Vivian Kilgore, and numerous loved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many loved friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Mae, brother, Billie Jack Kilgore, and her daughter, Jeramee Ann Welch Johnson. A graveside service will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park in Hughson, on Thursday, Sept. 27th at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to, The West Port Fire Department or a favorite charity of your choice.
