Earl, age 74, passed peacefully at home August 2, 2011. He was born in McFarland, CA,
and came to the Modesto area at a young age and has resided here most of his years.
Prior to retirement Earl worked sales and finance in the auto industry for approx.
twenty years and was a small business owner for many years before that.
From an early age, Earl enjoyed cars from drag racing to luxury. In retirement, he took
time to enjoy the backyard swimming pool and gardening. He is preceded in death by
his parents, Wm and Nettie Dykes, one brother, one sister and two infant grandsons.
Earl is survived by his wife Pat, two sons and two daughters: David E. Dykes, Donald E. Dykes,
Sharrie Altadonna (Henry) Sandra MacDannald, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and two brothers.
Funeral Services will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home, 900 Santa Fe Ave Hughson, CA
on Wednesday, Aug. 10 at 11:00am in the Riverside Chapel.
