Elsie M. Housewright

Elsie passed away on Christmas morning after a long illness.

She was born in Dallas, TX, on January 29, 1930, the daughter of

Lindsey and Esther Owens. She was married to her husband Ben

for 46 years until his passing in 1991. She loved to read for hours,

do word search puzzles, and watch movies with her family.

Her passionate love of sewing, flowers and gardening was passed

on to her children. She had a keen memory up until the very end.

Upon her death she was living with her daughter and caregiver Stacy in Campbell, CA .

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Her faith in God sustained her in her

final days and gave her peace in passing.

Elsie is survived by her seven children: Michael Housewright of Charlotte, NC,

Joe Housewright of Empire, Danny Housewright of Modesto, Rebecca Smith of Modesto,

Sharon Camp of Modesto, Jill Zahra of Modesto, Stacy Khanishian of Campbell,

13 grand children, and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by

her husband Ben and her son Mark.

A memorial service will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park and Funeral Home on

Thursday, December 30 at 2pm, with burial to follow.
