Eugene Steven Martin (Gene), age 80, passed away peacefully on the morning of March 2, 2024, due to his fight of Lung Cancer. He was born on February 29, 1944, in Gustine, California to Hilrico and Virginia Martin. He married Debra Kay (Glover) Martin in 1970. They built a life and home together.
Gene was a Army Veteran who served his country and was stationed at the DMZ in Korea. For 23 years he worked at Souza’s Milk Transportation in Gustine, Prior to that he worked at Varco Pruden in Turlock. He was also a farmer for most of his life. He loved to be outside working in the fields.
Gene is survived by his children Geanette (Paul) Borges, and Genelle Martin and grandchildren Brandon Borges, Natalia Borges, and Sophia Borges. Gene is preceded into death by his parents Hilrico and Virginia Martin; his wife Debra K. Martin; his son Gregory Allen Martin.
Gene loved talking to people telling stories about his life. He loved making people laugh by telling jokes and at times he would be serious. He lived his life loving his family. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.
