Frances passed away peacefully and into the arms of her Savior, Jesus on Monday Apr. 10, 2023, with her family by her side at the hospice house in Hughson, Ca. She was born in Roswell, New Mexico on January 12, 1936 to the parents of Catarino and Antonia Najar. She lived in San Jose where she met her husband , Thomas and they were married August 13,1953 and had a family. They then moved to Modesto where they resided until their deaths. She was a member of Calvary Temple, now known as the House of Modesto. Her most proud accomplishments were the birth of her children. As the children grew up, she supported them in school sports, and wherever their dreams led them. One of the things she loved the most was cooking and making everything from scratch. She was a wonderful wife to her husband Thomas, a wonderful mom, grandma and great grandma. Frances is survived by her son and his wife ,Robert and Connie Castañeda also daughter and her husband, Douglas and Susan Severe, nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
She is proceeded in death by her husband of 62 years Thomas Martinez Castañeda, sons Thomas Jr. ,Rodney and daughter Linda, four brothers, Edward, Martin, John and Desi, and three sisters, Mary, Irma, Gloria and her parents, Catarino and Antonia Najar. She has one surviving brother Camilo Najar.
A visitation for Frances will be held Friday, April 21, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Lakewood Funeral Home - Riverside Chapel, 900 Santa Fe Ave, Hughson, CA 95326. A funeral service will occur Friday, April 21, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 900 Santa Fe Ave, Hughson, CA 95326. A committal service will occur Friday, April 21, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Lakewood Memorial Park - Tuolumne Garden, 900 Santa Fe Ave, Hughson, CA 95326.
