George Carvalho, Jr., of Modesto, CA, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2011,
after a brief illness, surrounded by his loved ones. George was born in Maui
and grew up in the Bay Area. George was a Deputy with the Alameda County
Sheriff Department until he retired in 2006, after 28 years of service.
He moved to Modesto in the late 80's to fulfill his dream of owning and running
his own ranch. He was a member of the Ceres Lions Club and the Fisherman's
Club of Modesto.
He is survived by his Mother Isabel (Nana) of Ceres, Ca, son, George (Jennifer)
Carvalho III of El Sobrante, CA, daughter Kristina of Washinton, and granchildren,
Gabrielle, Jordan, and Taylor. He is also survived by his brothers, Glenn of Ceres,
CA and Dennis (Rose) of Reno, NV as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father George Carvalho, Sr.
George enjoyed raising animals and tending to his almond orchard. He loved to
sing karaoke, play his guitar, and entertain friends and family at his ranch.
George is loved and will be missed by many.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 8 from 9-11am with Funeral Service to follow at 11am,
both held at Lakewood Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Hughson, CA.
