Jackson Dale Webster of Oakdale was born in Warsaw, Missouri on February 3rd, 1944 to Howard and Geraldine Webster. He passed away on October 27th, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto after a long battle with cancer.
In approximately 1945 Jack moved with his family from Missouri to California where he attended several elementary schools and later went on to attend Oakdale High School where he was a talented pitcher for his baseball team. While attending Cardozo Elementary/Junior High School in 1957 he met the love of his life Barbara and the two eventually married on April 25th, 1962.
Jack enjoyed fishing, particularly salmon fishing on the Rogue River in Gold Beach, Oregon, where he and Barbara vacationed as often as they could, usually with as many family members as could come. In addition to fishing, Jack also enjoyed Giants baseball and Forty-Niners football. He rarely missed a game if either team was playing. But most of all he enjoyed building homes and spending time with family and friends.
Jack worked in the construction industry for nearly 45 years, first in the stucco trade and later creating a successful business as a general contractor, building many beautiful homes in the Oakdale area with his wife Barbara.
Jack is preceded in death by his wife of 45 years Barbara Webster, his father Howard Webster, his mother Geraldine Webster, his mother-in-law Jewell Laughlin and father-in-law Bonnie Laughlin. He is survived by his daughter Kim (Jim) Mapes of Modesto, son Heath (Tracie) Webster of Denair and five grandchildren Lexi and Jacob Mapes, Emma and Colton Webster and Shelly Cimino. He is also survived by his brothers Roger (Rosemary) Webster of Escalon, Danny (Donna) Webster of Waterford, sisters-in-law Martha (Don) Trammell of New Mexico, Carol Amstutz of Modesto and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, November 3rd, 2014 at Lakewood Memorial Park in Hughson.
Remembrances may be sent to Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson, California, The American Cancer Society, or to Relay for Life.
