James Albert Cartmell

Jim Cartmell went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 7th, 2015. He was raised in El Dorado, Kansas by Curtis and Retha Cartmell. Jim was one of 11 children. He leaves behind two brothers, Gary & Frank Cartmell. He would always share stories with his children about when he worked in pool construction and built pools for stars like Buck Owens. Later in his career he worked for J&L Guest home in Empire and retired after 18 years of caregiving for the residents. Jim loved his family, John Wayne movies and good ole country music, especially George Jones. He loved his cigarettes, coffee and his dogs, aka his "Rundeers."

Jim is survived by his four children, James Albert Cartmell Jr, Brent Cartmell (Christie), Brandy Houser (Kris) and Anna Faulk (Travis). Also a father figure to Katy Thompson-Knight (Chris). He was also the proud grandfather to 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, known fondly as Papa Grinch.

Jim spent the last 19 years with his love, Beth Rylant. The two of them would share laughs and always be at each other's side. Beth also had children and grandchildren who shared thier love for Jim.

An Interment Service will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park, Hughson, CA on March 23rd 2015 at 10:00am.
