

She was born in Modesto California where she was a lifelong resident. She was preceded in death by her father, Alfred Dionizio who served as a Firefighter for the City of Modesto and her mother Ella Mae (Cole) Dionizio who was a homemaker and seasonal cannery worker; as well a sister she never met-Doris Mae Dionizio who passed away as an infant.
Janet attended Washington Elementary School, Modesto High School and Modesto Junior College. Her career was in the banking industry were she worked for Wells Fargo Bank then transferred to their mortgage banking division. She went on to serve the balance of her career as the Vice President of First Concord Mortgage Company. She spent her retirement years traveling, following her beloved San Francisco Giants as well as her guilty pleasure of smoking cigarettes & playing the slots at Black Oak and other local casinos.
Janet was married to and divorced from Vernon Lee Humphrey However, together they shared two children-Daniel Humphrey and Cheryl Humphrey Albers. For 15 years she was the loving mother in law to Larry Albers, Jr. the father of her prized possessions-her grandson’s Bryan Albers (Lauren) and Bradley Albers. She lived her life for her grandson’s never missing an event; whether it was their first day of school, sitting in the bleachers for countless Bel Passi baseball games or being the biggest Central Catholic High School Football/Baseball fan (1996-2002) there was…she was ALWAYS there and not only served as “Grandma” to them but their teammates as well. As the years progressed Janet was blessed with a beautiful grand-daughter in law, Lauren who is the mother to her three precious Great Grandchildren-Bradyn, Kinsley and Hunter. She is also survived by her brother, Alvin Dionizio and her nephew and niece. Although her family circle is small the love for them is infinite; family was her everything.
She had the most wonderful “village” of friends many of which date back to her elementary school days, which translates to more than 75 years of friendship. She remained close to many of them throughout her life. She served on the reunion committee for Modesto High School Class of 1955 and took great pride and enjoyment in planning reunions for her classmates over the years. She served her community as a member of Soroptimist International. She was also a former member of National Association of Professional Mortgage Women, Oxford Place HOA Board-treasurer, Modesto Ski Club and Parents Without Partners.
A Celebration of life will be held in her honor on Saturday December 29th, 2018 at 11AM at Lakewood Memorial Park 900 Santa Fe Ave, Hughson CA 95326. Donations can be made to Covenant Care Hospice, The Parent Resource Center or a favorite charity in her name.
