JoAnn Skinner was born to Cleo and Estelle Glasgow on July 1st 1935 in Mesa, Arizona. On August 16th, 2025, she passed away peacefully surrounded by family in her home in Modesto, CA.
JoAnn was a loving daughter, wife, mother and sister – a woman of grace, beauty, and a huge heart. Her greatest treasure was family and the cherished memories she created. Her upbringing fostered strength and a resolve to create a good life for her own family. She married Virgil Love Skinner in October 1954.
They raised four children together, and later in life, she was a loving grandmother who enjoyed nothing more than spoiling and spending time with her beloved grandchildren. Many happy gatherings took place within the Skinner house, which she truly made a home. JoAnn was a lifelong fan of the San Francisco Giants and enjoyed evenings surrounded by her family, quietly reading a book while the baseball game played on the television. She also kept her body and mind active through travel, enjoying cross-country road trips with family as well as day trips to the coast.
She is survived by her four children Tana Wilkins, Tara Skinner, Tami Brookshier, and Michael Skinner; sister Ida Drewery; brother Lloyd Glasgow; nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
