Katherine F. Fontana

Katherine Fontana passed away peacefully, to begin her journey Home to be with the Lord, on August 3, 2013. She was born in Partinico, Sicily, Italy. She arrived at Ellis Island at the age of four with her family, and resided in Detroit, Michigan. She later married, Frank V. Fontana. Years later they moved to California, where she raised a family of four. She enjoyed the holidays so much. Her greatest gift to her family was the wonderful food and pastries she made. Mom was such a great story teller; she loved telling stories of her past to family and friends. She also enjoyed listening to her favorite Italian singers. She will be remembered for her generosity and loving ways.

She is survived by, daughters: Josephine Cipponeri, and Marie Fontana, sons: Bill Fontana, and Frank Fontana, 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank V. Fontana.

Visitation and rosary at Lakewood Funeral Home in Hughson, on Wed. Aug. 7th from 4-8pm. Rosary at 6:00pm in the Riverside Chapel.

Funeral Mass at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Modesto, on Thursday, Aug. 8th at 9:30am. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Hughson, CA (to Mary's Garden Fund).
