Lonnie Earl Sloan

June 22, 1939 - November 14, 2011

Lonnie Sloan of Hughson, passed to his Heavenly Father with family

by his side following a long illness. He was born in Madera, CA.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Mable Sloan,

his step-mother Sylvia Sloan and brothers Cletus and Donal Sloan.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jan George-Sloan, his children

Lonnie D. Sloan, Lisa Roberts, and Lana Sloan, Son in Law Clint Roberts,

his grandchildren Brandon, Jace, Nicole and Reine Sloan, Landon Roberts

and his step grandsons Mark Lovett, Coty and Shane Roberts.

He is also survived by his siblings Melvina Keenom, Dorthy Bidwell,

Raymond Sloan, Kathy Crum, Pam Mares and Carrol Morrow.

Lonnie was employed by Gallo Winery for 32 years where he also served

as a union representative. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching

his grandchildren play, never missing a practice or a game. He was a

graduate of Ceres High School, class of '58 and attended Hartnell College

were he started as a tight end. That year Hartnell ended the season

undefeated and ranked third in the nation.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, November 17th from 4-8pm.

Services will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park in Hughson on Friday, November 18th at 11:30 a.m.

A reception will be held at Grace Community Church at 3754 East Service Road in Ceres following the service.
