Lucille Rhoda Sanders Smith

Lucille was born in Huntsville, Arkansas and went to be with the Lord in Ceres, CA. She and her husband, William A. Smith "Bill" have lived in Ceres, CA for 74 years. Bill and Lucille met at the 4th of July parade in Modesto in 1941. They were married the following 4th of July in 1942. They have been married for 70 years. Lucille and Bill's favorite times were spent camping and fishing with many friends and family. Lucille loved playing table games with her children and grandchildren. Lucille is survived by her loving husband, Bill Smith, four children; Carol (Bob) Hart of Modesto, David (Pam) Smith of Sierra Village, Judy (Kevin) Stewart of Texas, and Sandra (Phil) O'Keefe of Corona. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Lucille is preceded in death by her parents, Ulis G. and Daisy Sanders, sister, Bessie, brothers Orangel and Art. She is also preceded in death by grandson, David Smith, Jr., and great-grandson, Jacob Grant Stewart, Jr. A special thanks to her caregivers, Julie Owens and Jona Fernandez. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 27 from 4-8pm and Chapel Service will be held Thursday, February 28 at 2:00pm both services will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home (Heritage Chapel).
