Lupe Velez

Just as she would have wanted, her husband of 58 years comforting her, by her side to her last breath. She was was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was born on May 13, 1940 to Trinidad and Leopoldo Gutierrez in Zapotlanejo, Mexico. She married Octavio Velez on September 10th, 1965. She followed him to San Jose, CA and raised a close knit family of three girls: Lupita, Cristine, Annette. Lupe is survived by her husband (Octavio), her two daughters (Lupita and Cristine) and 6 grandchildren (Tyler, Jason, Morgan, Madison, Cole and Kendall). Lupe will be welcomed by her daughter in heaven, by Annette who passed away January 17, 2020. Lupe will also be joining her family that includes her parents and siblings, she was the youngest of 8 children.

Lupe especially loved ANY family time where we could all be together. This included many family gatherings, camping and going to the beach to enjoy the sunshine. Shopping also a hobby in particular for those that knew her.

A funeral service for Lupe will be held Wednesday, February 21, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Lakewood Funeral Home, 900 Santa Fe Ave, Hughson, CA 95326. Following the funeral service will be a graveside service from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Lakewood Memorial Park, 900 Santa Fe Ave, Hughson, CA 95326.
