Marvin Merle Stehle passed away peacefully on May 20, 2016 in Modesto, California at the age of 66. Marvin was born on August 22, 1949 to Hansel E. Stehle and Nada V. Stehle in Gainesville, Missouri (Ozark County). Marvin and his family moved to Hickman, California in 1951. Marvin attended Hughson High School where he graduated in 1967. In 1969 Marvin was drafted into the United States Army where he served as Private 1st Class. While serving in Vietnam, Marvin earned the Purple Heart when he was wounded in action. He also earned the Bronze Star for heroic service in a combat zone.
Marvin spent the remainder of his life hiking, fishing and listening to his vast collection of music. Marvin was preceded in death by his father Hansel E. Stehle. Marvin is survived by his mother Nada V. Stehle, his brother James L. Stehle, his sister Peggy A. Branson, his daughter Sandi Stepp, his son Chris Robertson, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Arrangements have been made by Lakewood Memorial Park. Services will be held on Thursday, June 9 at 11:00 a.m. at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, 32053 W. McCabe Road, Santa Nella, CA 95322.
