

He is survived by Doris Nicholson, his wife of 56 years, his daughter, Tammy Anderson, his son, Bill Nicholson, four grandsons, Anthony Nicholson, Michael Anderson Jr., Jared Nicholson, Adam Nicholson, and seven great grandchildren, along with his brother, Rex Nicholson, and sister, Mary Joe McGee.
Maxie grew up in Ash Flat, Arkansas to Herbert and Theresa Nicholson and graduated from Ash Flat High School in 1954. After high school, Maxie proudly served in the Army and was stationed in Germany. He moved to California for the work in the agriculture industry and met his future wife. He and Doris (Dody) were married in 1967. He worked at the ammunition plant in Riverbank, California during the Vietnam war, followed by working as a press operator at Circle A&W/Cooper B-Line until he retired.
Maxie loved taking his family camping, collecting antiques, and enjoyed listening to music from classic country to Elvis. After he retired, he liked to volunteer at the Modesto City Senior Center to serve during their lunch program and enjoyed helping others whenever he could. His children will always remember him as a loving and supportive father and grandfather who encouraged them to pursue their goals.
A service will be held on Wednesday, November 1st, at 10 a.m. at Lakewood Memorial Park in Hughson, California. There will be a reception following.
