Mike was born in Salinas, California to Elmo and Adeline Boggeri. He then attended Hughson schools and graduated from Hughson High School in 1959. He attended Modesto Junior College and spent 5 years as part of the National Guard. In 1967, he married the love of his life, Linda Naka. They had three children and spent life busy with the kids and farming the family ranch. Mike was forced to retire from farming in 1994 due to his health issues and MS diagnosis.
Creativity and seeing the world from different perspectives increased after he stopped working. As an avid photographer, Mike belonged to the Photo Collective Group in Modesto for many years. He had showings of his work in many local shows and won various awards for his work. One of his photographs was chosen to be put onto the MS poster which was presented to President Clinton. Mike also enjoyed writing. He contributed poetry to Penumbra, The Art & Literacy Magazine for CSU Stanislaus in the late 1990s up to 2008.
Mike also loved to travel. He was able to squeeze a few longer trips in to places like Mexico City, Hawaii, and Washington DC. As he became less mobile, he still enjoyed short day trips in the van with Linda and the dogs.Later in his life, Mike enjoyed his coffee group and eating out. He was always up for trying new foods. He stayed closer to home with multiple trips to the Fruit Yard each week.
Mike didn’t let his illness stop him. He kept busy with his hobbies as well as Giants baseball (live games with the family, and televised games), radio, TV and just plain conversations. His will never went to waste, despite his body failing him in other ways.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents Elmo and Adeline Boggeri and sister Mary Boggeri. He is survived by his wife Linda, sons David (Jeanna), Scott (Olena), and daughter Lisa (Russ) Skelchy, granddaughters Alyssa (Forrest) Angle, Jeanine (Thomas) Angarole, and great-grandson Easton Angle.
