Michael Swagerty

Michael Vance Swagerty passed away surrounded by his loved ones on February 7, 2025 at the age of 78. Born on December 6, 1946, he was known for his dedicated service to the Lord, and love for others above himself. He served as a Pastor for over 50 years, serving congregations in Newark, New Jersey, Akron Ohio, Chicago, and Sacramento. In his service to the Lord, he exemplified Jesus Christ through his ministry, which included children, young adults, seniors and his local community. He touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Sandra Lee of 56 years, and his sons Terry Wayne and Robert Keith, and his four grandchildren Jakob, Madison, Trinity and Andrew. He will be laid to rest on Saturday April 5th, at 1:00 at Lakewood Memorial Funeral Home in Hughson, Ca.

His life was characterized by his passion for helping and mentoring others, empathetic listening, and his compassion for his fellow mankind regardless of religious affiliation or status in life. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, friend and servant of the Lord.

2 Timothy 4:7 encapsulates his life. “I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith.
