

Neal Edward Wright passed away on July 3, 2014 after a six year fight with cancer but was preceded by a lifetime of adventure and passion for the ministry and helping others. He was born to Jim Wright, and Carrie Marie William, of Oklahoma on July 5, 1941 in Modesto, California where he lived most of his life. In his youth he enlisted in the United States Navy where he served his country on two ships; The USS Cimarron and the USS Mauna Kea. He did a tour of duty in Viet Nam while stationed on the USS Cimarron where he ran supply boats up and down the Mei Kong Delta to ensure the ground effort had their much needed medical and general supplies. After returning home he suffered some life changing events that would have brought most men to their knees but instead brought him closer to his higher power. He became an ordained minister in 1975 and began to carry the word of God to prisons and struggling men all over California. In the 90's he became heavily in involved in Alcoholics Anonymous which was to be a lifetime love and passion. Through AA and the ministry he touched and helped to change the course of hundreds of men and had a life changing impact on those he helped and of his loving family. Mr. Wright, who was divorced, is survived by his loving daughter Gina Trevizo who stood by his side through all of his cancer treatment and ongoing medical issues. And her sons Andrew Trevizo and Braden Phillips, His older brother JB and his wife Wilma Wright, and his younger brother Jim Wright. He also leaves behind 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
A Ceremony will be held at 1:00pm on Friday July 18, 2014 at Lakewood Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 900 Santa Fe Ave. Hughson, CA 95326.
