

Ray Velasco age 63, loving Husband, Father, Papa & friend, was born in Hayward, CA to Ramon & Conception Velasco. He grew up in Castro Valley, CA and attended Canyon High School. He joined the Army in 1967 at the age of 19 and spent 3 years of his life serving our country. Ray married the love of his life, Brenda (Cookie) Velasco in 1973 and began his life as a loving husband and father. They had 3 beautiful children and have 9 grandchildren with one on the way. His most treasured moments were spent sitting at home in his favorite chair watching sports and spending time with his beloved family and dog Yogi. He loved to create things out of nothing, like his magnet people and his tv arcade game. In his early years, Ray enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle, and hanging out with his closest family and friends. Ray was diagnosed with lung cancer nearly 2 years ago and fought until the day he passed away, his family by his side. He worked in the electronics industry for 38 years as a High Vacuum Electronic Technician. He was always trying to take things apart and make them better. Ray was a strong, proud, loving man. He touched many people's lives, especially those of his friends and family. He will be greatly missed.
Ray is preceded in death by his father, Ramon Velasco and brother, Ricardo Velasco. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Brenda (Cookie) Velasco, daughter, Shena Wilson, son, Jesse Velasco and wife, Amy Velasco, daughter, Cortnie Morris and husband, Kyle Morris. His grandchildren, Kevin Wilson Jr., Jill Wilson, Alex Wilson, Tyler Wilson, Brady Wilson, Jayce Wilson, Christian Chavez, Jaxx Velasco, Tripp Morris, Jozie Mae Velasco, and beloved dog Yogi. He also leaves behind his beloved mother, Conception Velasco, Sisters Connie Massa, Mercy Avila, Kathy Correia and Maria Velasco. Brothers, Candy Coronel, Ralph Velasco and Jim Velasco.
