Robert “Bob” Kirkpatrick Jr, 60, passed away unexpectedly entering into eternal peace Wednesday November 9th at his home in Modesto, CA. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Deborah. He leaves behind his two sons Mike (Lisa) Kirkpatrick of Modesto and David Comstock of Bakersfield. He is survived by six grandchildren who were the love of his life Michaela Kirkpatrick, Wyatt Comstock, Karsyn Comstock, Katelynn Kirkpatrick, Ryan Prater, and Brandon Criswell who affectionately called him “Grandpa Bob”. He is also survived by his sister Carolynn Witt of Coalinga, CA and his brother Donnie Kirkpatrick of Susanville, CA. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mae Kirkpatrick.
Robert was born in Sonora, CA. His family moved to Modesto, where he attended Downey High School and graduated in 1969. After high school he enlisted in the Marines. At the end of his service, Robert returned to Modesto, CA where he worked as a Paver Operator for George Reed Inc until his retirement in 2001. Robert was a loving father and husband who was very proud of his two sons and grandchildren. His family loved hearing the stories about all the roads he paved. Robert’s smile and laughter was always a warm welcome. After his retirement, Robert enjoyed spending much time with his family and friends, including camping in Half Moon Bay, deer hunting with his son and fishing with his closest friend Mike.
Graveside services will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park on November 18 at 1:00pm. Immediately following the service, the family would like to welcome friends and loved ones to Debbie and Bob’s home in Modesto. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for an unwrapped toy to be given to Toys For Tots. There will be a container available at Lakewood Funeral Home for the donations.
