Robert R. Perri was born July 21, 1925, in Los Angeles California, the son of Peter and Ann Perri. Robert served during World War II in the United States Coast Guard. Honorably discharged from the Coast Guard, in 1947 he procured a position with North American Aviation, later known as Rockwell International. Though he started in the stockroom, Robert worked his way up in the company holding several positions with Rockwell. He retired as a Program Manager in their Marine Systems division in 1987 after more than 40 years with the company.
While working at Rockwell, Robert met and married Audrey, the love of his life, on November 7, 1953. They raised three daughters in Whittier, California. Robert, Audrey, and family enjoyed many summer vacations with dear friends in Yosemite, perhaps Bob’s favorite place. They would also travel to New Mexico to visit his good friend from the Coast Guard. Later, Robert and Audrey traveled to various parts of the United States and Europe all the while enjoying the sites, culture, and food along the way.
Once Robert retired, they moved first to Visalia and then to Roseville where they became actively engaged with other retired couples in a variety of activities. A few years after Audrey’s death, Robert relocated to Oakdale, a town he was proud to call home.
Robert’s interests included football, gardening and cooking. If there was a football game on, he was watching it. His love of gardening created a yard full of beautiful flowers and fruit trees, which flourished under his care. He also enjoyed cooking and baking, and was famous for his homemade spaghetti sauce and delicious pies.
He is survived by his daughters Monica Perri, Andrea (Milton) Medeiros, and Adrienne Perri. His grandchildren include Dominic (Audrey) Bethel, Zachary (Lesley) Bethel, Cameron (Jenna) Medeiros, Connor (Kyle) Medeiros, Kimberly Medeiros, Wade Humphrey, Owen Humphrey, Spencer (Tyana) Humphrey. He is also survived by six great grandchildren.
