

Sam was born on December 28, 1936, in Haskell, Texas. In 1955, he moved to Modesto, California, where he made his home and spent the majority of his life.
He was employed by Brown and Williamson/Reynolds American for 32 years prior to his retirement. He was member of the Vintage Chevrolet Club of America and enjoyed restoring his 1949 Chevrolet DeLuxe Club Coupe which gave him many years of enjoyment.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary E. Turner; his son, Jeff Turner (Leisa); his daughter, Kimberly Hill (David); four grandchildren, Brittany Wunder (Clay), Kendall Silva (Trent), Spencer Turner (Hailey), and Claire Bridges (Luke).
two great-grandchildren, Brady Silva and Piper Turner, along with 2 additional girls that are on the way. All of whom have been a great source of pride and joy to him.
Sam will be remembered by those who knew him as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His life touched many, and his memory will live on through his family and friends.
A Graveside service will be held at 12:00PM Monday, February 9, 2026 at Lakewood Memorial Park, following the conclusion of the service a luncheon will be held at The Fruit Yard.
