Born in Bakersfield, CA while her parents were on vacation, she lived in Henrietta, Oklahoma while her father worked in the coal mines. They moved to the Modesto area when she was a small child, and she graduated from Modesto High in 1956.
On Christmas Eve of 1957, she flew to Washington D.C. to marry her high school sweetheart Dwight Trammell who was stationed at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland. They were married on December 27th and have been married for 53 wonderful years.
She started her career just out of high school working for JS West, and then later working for the Stanislaus County Assessor’s Office. She began working for the Modesto Bee in 1972 and retired after 25 years of working in the Classified Advertising Dept.
But her pride and greatest accomplishments was always her family. She enjoyed many camping trips when her son and daughter were small at Modesto Reservoir and Tulloch Lake. She also traveled extensively to various parts of the world including Spain and Europe.

She is also survived by a brother Herb Winter of Palm Desert, CA; plus numerous brothers in law and sisters in law, nieces and nephews, and many, many dear friends. She also leaves behind her precious Elvis (a Maltese) who brought her much happiness in the past few years.
She is pre-deceased by her parents Hubert and Hattie Winter; a brother and a sister; and her great-granddaughter Nicole.
Chapel services will be held at Lakewood Memorial Funeral Home Riverside Chapel, 11am, Sept. 15, 900 Santa Fe Ave., Hughson, CA. Committal will be private.
