Wilma was born in Powderly, Alabama to Joe Bradford and Ruby Hall. After making the decision to move to California, Wilma met her husband Jack W. Mack. in 1978. The couple opened up their care facility, naming it Mack's Board & Care. The business was open for twenty years.
In her younger years, Wilma loved to bowl with friends and family, and had great fun "dancing with the girls". She had a tight-knit group of friends, all of which have sadly passed before her. Wilma spent much of her time with her sisters Carol and Patsy, sisters-in-law Oleta and Esther, and close friend Doris Davis. The group would constantly be found with one another.
After Mack's Board & Care closed its doors, Wilma was employed as a cafeteria worker in Ceres, and later on became a soldier with the Salvation Army. She found inner peace there and enjoyed spending her time by caring for the less fortunate.
One of Wilma's greatest joys, besides her work and her family, included her pets. In 2022, her beloved dog Fauqua passed away. In the following year, Wilma lost her second dog, Magma.
Wilma passed away peacefully on February 13, 2024. She was preceded in death by husband Jack and son Joseph. Wilma is survived by her son Zack, and her daughters Jerrilyn Cotariu, and Susie Baker, as well as their respective spouses. She is also survived by her grandchildren Zachery, Danielle, Heather, and Courtney.
A visitation for Wilma will be held Tuesday, February 27, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Lakewood Funeral Home, located at 900 Santa Fe Ave, Hughson, CA 95326. A funeral service will follow the visitation and begin at 11:00 AM. A final visitation will take place after Wilma's funeral service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
