Yvonne Marie Moon

Yvonne was born in Modesto to Jack and Lois Flebut on March 3, 1938. She attended and graduated from Downey High School. Her first job was with Pacific Bell as an operator, and then a NA at Scenic General Hospital. Her career of 25+ years was with the California Highway Patrol as a dispatcher, retiring from that position. She briefly came out of retirement to become a park ranger for the Calaveras Big Trees. Yvonne's passions were her animals and music. The family will miss her beautiful voice, and her gift of playing classical music on the piano. Yvonne enjoyed boating and waterskiing, and camping in the great outdoors with her family.

Yvonne is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Lois, and her brother, Jack, Jr. She is survived by her daughters Barbara (Greg) of Modesto, and Kathy of Oakdale, and her son Scott of Oakdale. Yvonne is survived by her grandsons Michael (Samantha) and Brandon of Modesto; step-grandsons Daniel (Michelle) of Sonora, David (Shannon) of Newcastle, Oklahoma; great-grandson Dylan of Modesto, and step-great-grandchildren, Allison, Ashlynn and Levi of Oklahoma, and Riley and Callen of Sonora. Yvonne is also survived by her sister-in-law, Janet, and her nephews John (Cheryl) of Discovery Bay, Daniel (William) of New Paltz, New York, and Suzanne of Norfolk, Virginia.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Marinella and the care-givers at the Golden Age Care Home and R. J. Heck, M.D., for their support in her final days.

A Celebration of Life for Yvonne will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park, 900 Santa Fe Ave., Hughson, California, on May 1, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. at the Lakeview location.
