With a Spirit of Peace and a Whisper of Grace, Diana Elaine was called home to meet the Lord on Sunday, June 5, 2016. She is also preceded in death by her daughter, Sabrina Powers, grandparents Henry and Rosa Lee Johnson, and Roland Johnson. Diana Elaine was affectionately called “Nonnie” by all of her family.
She is survived by her husband, Greg Tapp of Tomball, children, Bayleigh Powers, Luis Johnson, and A.J. Tapp, stepdaughters, Amanda Montgomery, Samantha Davidson, and Shelbi Bobuck. She is also survived by her father, Dean Johnson, her sister, Melissa Dawson (Mike) of Spring, grandchildren, Halston and Kylee Montgomery, Alex and Corbin Bobuck, Payton and Phoenix Davidson, brother-in-law Kendall Tapp (Jennifer) and nephew, Deuce Dawson, and nieces, Maddie and Mallory Dawson, Molly, Jenna, and Kenley Tapp.
Diana Elaine was born on May 14, 1974 in Houston, Texas and grew up in the Spring area. She was a graduate of Spring High School class of 1992. She was the kind of woman that everyone loved and her signature laugh was known to many. Diana Elaine had a character of true selflessness, marked by her generous and giving spirit. To be able to list all of the people and creatures she has helped and touched over the years would be impossible. She was an active volunteer at her church and during her professional career she worked as a Family Support Worker, Foster Parent Training Coordinator, PACE Program Worker, and Product Rep for a Holistic Pet Food Distributor. Everything she did was dedicated to serving, educating and helping others. Whether she was teaching parenting skills to teen mothers, making home visits to work with children with special needs, or teaching others about pet nutrition during her time with Natural Pawz, she truly loved her work. Diana Elaine gave of herself at all times and in all situations, even during times when she had little. Whether it was welcoming in someone in need or a lost animal, she was always jumping at the chance to broaden her family. Diana Elaine loved her kids more than life itself and time and time again she sacrificed so that they could have better life. In addition to her friends and family, she loved her animals beyond belief. Each of her beloved horses and dogs held a special place in her heart, especially the ones that had already been called home, those which no doubt comfort her now. In a world that is often unsteady and unkind, her love made a lasting difference and left a profound footprint on all of our lives. Knowing that we have a new angel looking down on us, we can look to Diana Elaine’s life and choose to carry on her legacy of goodness, compassion, and selflessness.
