I think of Don & Phyllis often. They are in my prayers.

I met Don and Phyllis after hurricane Ike blew down our common fence, between our yards. They are both sweet people and have a great attitude. Wish Phyllis the best.

We know you are up there flying with the best.

You will be dearly missed by your long time basketball buddy. 

We will truly miss your visits here to Chicago for your De La Salle reunions and to be with us (as recent as last October, which we were so grateful for). 

You taught Phyllis well, she is carrying on like a trooper. We are hoping to see her someday soon! Til we meet again.

There are some people who just light up our lives...Phyllis and Don French are those kind of people.

Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.

Mr. Donald French was one of our favorite and faithful library patrons.  I formed a wonderful friendship with Mr Donald French and his wife Mrs. Phyllis French, since they both faithfully supported our customer count week and our Christmas parties.  I always got a kick out of Donald's humorous and sweet comments about my hats and outfits.  We will remember Donald for his friendly smile and terrific sense of humor. Donald French is deeply missed.

Donald French and his wife Mrs Phyliss has been one of my most faithful and favorite library patrons.  I usually wear hats with my outfits, and I loved Donald's comments about my hats.  The comments were most complementary with a dash of humor.  Mr and Mrs French have always been supportive of our Christmas programs and patron county week.  Donald French always had a friendly smile and was a fine example of what a truly wonderful person is.  We will deeply miss Donald French.

I met Don and his dear wife, Phyllis, when we were members of the Custom Camera Club.  I always enjoyed viewing his photographs (often black and white) and hearing his comments.

I think of Don as having made his transition and I wish him well on his journey.

For twenty years our family have been neighbors to Don and Phillis. Walking out the door one constant was always knowing you'd be greeted with a smile and a wave. Don was always working on his yard,or riding his bike,sometimes you'd see him stop to play with his cat,his warm and friendly sprit shining through. Even through his fight with cancer this constant never changed.Through talks with Phyllis,listening to so many stories of their life together ,you could tell they were truly soulmates. Don will be missed, and Phyllis our love and prayers are with you,truly thankful for such special neighbors.Jerry Donna Robby and RachelDoty

For many years we have enjoyed Don's  friendship and participation in the Custom Camera Club. Our mutual interest and love of photography resulted in many  discussions which made for exciting debates for every ones benefit and enjoyment. Wonderful evening photography club sessions long to be remembered as Don pursued to photograph one more time his cement plant pictures, generating much discussion each time he would reshoot or reprint this picture. He truly will be missed and the lunch we had planned will have to wait until next we meet.

Donald (Mr. French) was a man with a happy smile, full of kindness and love, with many pictures to share…He was just a great guy. 
During this past Christmas/New year season he came to our home with his wife Phyllis and he was his normal, jovial self….taking pictures and talking about his many adventures in life.…he always had a good story.
We haven’t had to deal with much death in our family…but we were devastated to hear about Mr. French leaving us.
We miss him…very much,  but we know he is in a better place…and while we lost a dear friend, the world lost a great man.

Mr. French was a very kind and sweet neighbor.  He would always mow a niche of grass on the side of our house because it was easier for him to get to than for us.  We truly enjoyed his and Phyllis' visits to our home as they entertained us with stories about their life together in Chicago and Los Angeles and shared photos that they had taken.  We will miss seeing him tool around the neighborhood on his bike.

I knew Don and Phyllis through Custom Camera Club. I respected him highly - as a photographer and as a gentleman. We extend our heartfelt condolences and love to our friend, Phyllis.

Don led us to believe he would live forever but on January 26, 2011 he proved us wrong and broke our hearts. I
was also a classmate of Don's at D L S
High School in Chicago and enjoyed our
friendship very much.  Don will be missed by all his '48 classmates. Don is now off his roller coaster but his family is not.  Let us continue to keep Phyllis and family in our thoughts and prayers. Live Jesus in our Hearts - Forever.  Rita and Joe Welsh, Sugar Land, Texas

Don was an amazing classmate at DeLaSalle High School in Chicago.  In recent years he and Phyliss came to our Class of '48 annual luncheons in Chicago and visited us at our Farm in Indiana, staying overnight and photographing the hundred year old buildings. Don sent two large prints which we treasure.
Don treated us to a cruise and lunch near his home in Texas, an enjoyable day with him and Phyliss and another DLS Classmate, Joe Welsh and his wife, Rita, who live nearby.
Don's courage, sense of humor, devotion to Phyllis and love of life inspire us and give us hope for a joyful eternal reunion.

Don was my friend since our days at DeLaSalle High School on the "great southside" of Chicago. He was brilliant and witty. In recent years he was one of our "Class of '48 Pow-Wows" members, which he and Phyllis attended many times. He had a very distinctive voice, I can hear it now. He enjoyed being with our group each year when we shared a luncheon meal together...we will all miss him very much. He phoned us several times during the year, and sent pictures he had taken recently. He coped with his health problems well and never let them get him down. May he rest in peace forever.
