Donald Ray Wear

Donald Ray Wear Sr., 79, of Spring, TX. went home to be with the Lord, to his eternal home on Saturday, August 24, 2013. He was born in Loraine, Illinois on March 1, 1934, son of the late Jabez Sylvester and Myrtle Daisy (Louderback) Wear. He married Ilena Mae (Stewart) Wear on May 12, 1951. They lived together in Illinois before moving to Texas in 2003. He was employed by Central Illinois Public Service (C.I.P.S.), now called Ameren, for 42 years. He started out as a ditch digger for pipelines, he did several different jobs before he ended his employment as a meter repairman when he retired in 1997. Donald was an active member of the Sharing Love Sunday School Class at Spring Baptist Church. Donald was an animal lover and had several very special pets throughout his life. As a boy he had a horse named Dick that he rode everywhere. He had a sweet dog named Gidget, that he loved dearly. He had a chiwawa/weaner dog, a chiweenie, named Sancho with yellow eyes, that was his best buddy until the end of Dad’s life. Donald was a beekeeper. He enjoyed raising rabbits and won several ribbons for “Best of Show”. He was an avid fisherman and a hunter. Donald is proceeded in death by his parents and 8 siblings; Daisy, Annabelle, Adra, Bessie, Howard, Cyrus, Jabez, and Doris. Donald is survived by his wife, Ilena M. wear of Spring, TX; four children: Ben and Donetta (Wear) Hernandez, Wanda Link and special friend, Cindy Howe of Milford, TX., Donald R. Wear Jr. of New London, MO., and John and Rhonda (Wear) Neal of Spring, TX. He is survived by two sisters; Shirley Cline of Quincy, Illinois, and Inez Tournear of Quincy, Illinois; 11 Grand-children: Josh and Tami Balay of Cypress, TX., Timothy and Amy Patterson of Spring, TX., Steven Link of Paris Illinois, Anthony and Tara Link of Waxahachie, TX., Joshua Link of Milford, TX., Justin Wear of New London, Illinois., Nevaeh and Ashlee of Spring Texas, and Robbie and Allison Neal of Germany; 11 Great-grand-children; Joshua and Caleb Balay, Brooke, Alexis, Emma and Jake Patterson, Dylan Link, Riley and Zachary Link, Alexander Provado and Sebastian Neal.
