D. Mark Thompson, 62, of Spring, Texas, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2017 at his home. He was born September 5, 1954, in Houston, Texas, to Milford and Kathryn Malone Thompson. Mark has always had love for music from all different genres. As a boy, he would stay up late at night listening to his transistor radio trying to pick up music from all over the United States. He was especially fascinated with the California stations he was able to pick up because they would have the newest songs compared to Houston radio stations. He was an All-Region trumpet player in his High School band, and then switched to French horn in college at Lamar University. Mark went on to get his Bachelor’s Degree in accounting at Lamar.
In 1978 Mark met, fell in love, and married Connie. They became and remained best friends over the years. They had three sons, Mark Aron, David, and Bryan Thompson.
After Mark graduated he moved to Houston to work for Texas Eastern, and later at Enron Corporation in the tax accounting department. Later in life he went back to school at the University of Texas Health Science Center-Houston, and graduated from Dental school to follow his dreams of becoming a Doctor. Mark went to his eternal rest after battling heart disease for 20 years on July 30, 2017.
Mark was the happiest when he was with his family. His sons were the most important part of his life. He encouraged and supported them in everything they did. He was so proud of his family and will be deeply missed.
