Jay was a self-made man of great accomplishments and generosity. He was a trusted commercial and corporate pilot that began his aviation career as a baggage handler. A private man, Jay said little but knew the story of every person he met. Never one to pass on a meal, or even better dessert, Jay made lifelong friends of strangers, particularly the hard-working folks he found while searching for the best “hole in the wall” place for a great breakfast taco.
Jay exemplified a life well lived. In retirement he found joy driving little ones at a local day care. He built RC airplanes, made the world’s best cheesecake and guacamole, learned to play guitar, built a go kart, only to gift it to a neighbor child. Jay loved cars, not “A to B Cars” (transportation) He built cars, a corvette, hotrods, racers, restored old trucks, raced cars, rode a Harley. He was a quiet man with a huge heart that was never bored. Jay Lived!
Jay is preceded in death by his mother, Teresa (Mar), father, Jackson (Pop). His legacy will live on with his grandchildren, Austin, Tyler, Cameron and Bridget, his love Suzanne, her daughter Heather, Sister, Carol, brother-in-law Bobby, brothers Neil and Michael, sisters-in-law, Teresa and Beth. And will be always cherished, loved and adored by his daughter Nikki.
As a private man Jay wished no service. Rather than flowers please donate to the charity of your choice that promotes cancer research and cures, or to the well-being of people in need.
