Norma Luz Chin

Norma lived a life defined by faith, compassion, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family. She touched countless lives through her gentle spirit, warm smile, and genuine love for others.

A dedicated Registered Dietitian, Norma began her education in the Philippines and later continued her studies in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where she completed her degree. Throughout her career, she devoted herself to helping others achieve healthier lives and well-being. Her intelligence, dedication, and caring nature made a lasting impact on all who knew her.

Norma spent most of her life in Texas, where she built a life centered on faith, family, and friendship. A devout Catholic, she found strength and comfort in her faith and lived her life guided by kindness, generosity, and compassion.

Her greatest joy was her family. She was a loving mother to Mike Chin and his wife Gina Villaflor, and Derrick Chin and his fiancée Maritza Willis. She was an extraordinarily proud grandmother to Lucas Chin, Ethan Chin, Daniel Chin, and David Chin.

She is survived by Violeta Mendoza Valle and her husband Virgilio Valle; Milagros Mendoza Dreany and her husband Frederick Dreany; Teresita Mendoza Diaz and her husband Orlando Diaz; and Leon Mendoza and his wife Heather.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sergio Mendoza and Florida Guerrero; her beloved sister, Corazon Mendoza Guillermo; and her daughter-in-law, Felicia Cruz Chin.

Those who knew Norma will remember her gentle heart, quiet strength, and loving nature. She loved spending time with her grandsons and enjoyed trips to Coushatta with family and friends. She was a wonderful cook whose homemade cheesecake became legendary among family and friends. She also loved to dance and brought joy wherever she went.

Anyone who had the privilege of knowing Norma loved her. Her kindness, warmth, and selfless love will be remembered always. Her legacy of faith, family, and unconditional love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
