Dr lomas was my all time favorite teacher at tsu. Dr lomas, more than all the teachers at TSU made a lifetime impression on me. He was a beautiful human being. I remember his long  beard (before long beards became popular) and earing. Dr lomas would teach history in a way that would have the entire class captivated and would completely emgulf you in the story. I became a teacher and wanted to be a cool teacher like dr lomas. I also remember him telling me he lived in rock island IL when I  told him I was from Chicago.He will live on in the hearts and memories of countless students with love.  RIP Dr. Lomas

My first exposure to Ron was in a classroom at college where he was teaching an English class for public speaking. Most professors were of the mentality towards students that they either passed or failed and it mattered little to the one teaching the subject. Not Ron. He made sure that he provided the lesson on terms that everyone could clearly understand. Jokes and stories were intertwined throughout the class and we thought of him as one of us rather than the professor. He didn’t mind a challenge either. He welcomed it as an opportunity for discussion.
I tried to find a way to to attend Ron’s classes and very much enjoyed all of them.
A few years went by and I found him once again
at a a little league practice while he was watching his son, along with several other parents. While the other parents were loudly encouraging their sons to do this or that, Mr. Lomas  was intently paying attention to what the coaches were doing. Close attention. I came to know him as just Ron and had the privilege over the years to speak with him and his wife as they attended Chris’ ballgames. 
I have a very short list of names that I believe this world was better off with that person being in it. Ron was one of these people and I was deeply saddened to learn of his passing. 
My thoughts and prayers go out to his family during this time.

Stunned to see Ron's obituary. I haven't been able to contact him for quite a while. Apparently the e-mail address I have has been inoperative for some time. Trying the internet again, I found the bitter news of bis death. I have missed him for these many years. He was such a joyful presence in my life is it hard to imagine that he is gone. Please accept my prayers and condolences for him, you, and the kids.

During my many visits and many opportunities to have met Ron. My  fondest memory was his level of intelligence when Becky and I visited him in the hospital .  I thought he had already turned his room into a library with books and readings that were of a high intellect that most men couldn't comprehend.
