Susan Annette Bromberg, born on April 5, 1958, in Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home in Montpelier, Virginia, on January 15, 2025, surrounded by those she loved. She was the beloved daughter of Frances L.B. Mitschke and Carl Edward Taylor and was preceded in death by her siblings, David Wayne Taylor, Edward Louis Taylor, and Karen Elise Taylor.
Susan was a devoted mother to her daughters, Amy DaVette Brown and Rebecca Anne Bromberg, and a proud grandmother to Haley Faye Hickman, Emily Frances Brown, and Mason Alexander Brown. She shared a special bond with her son-in-law, Klark Allyn Brown, who became a cherished part of her family.
In 2000, Susan achieved the milestone of earning her GED and later obtained her director’s license in 2002. These accomplishments led her to serve as the director of childcare at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, where she dedicated herself to nurturing children and fostering a sense of community.
A woman of deep faith and kindness, Susan lived an honest Christian life. She treated everyone with respect and found joy in music—particularly Alan Jackson’s gospel songs—and in the vibrant colors purple and yellow. Susan also loved cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family, cherishing every moment with those she held dear.
Her greatest hope was for people to learn to love and respect one another—a reflection of the values she carried throughout her life. May her memory inspire kindness and unity among all who knew her.
Susan will return to her home state of Texas to be laid to rest at Calvary Hill. Her family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support that made this possible.
