Walter married Deborah Mcbride on November 7, 2013, in Spring, TX. He was retired from Goodyear Tires after 30 years of dedicated service. Walter enjoyed music, singing, and attending church, as well as watching westerns and the Texans. He also served in the army as a sharpshooter.
He is survived by his spouse, Deborah Lewis, and his daughters Marylita, Jean, Kim, Rhonda, and Kristi. He is also survived by his sons John, Walter, Kevin, Kristopher, Kenneth, and Gregory. Preceding him in death were his son Ricky, his sister Mary B. Williams, his brother Nehemiah Lewis, as well as his parents, Carrie Pearl Mays and L.C. Lewis.
In lieu of flowers, the family of Walter Lewis has asked for donations to St. Paul Community Church in Spring, TX, or MD Anderson Hospital.
A committal service will be held at the Houston National Cemetery, located at 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038, on December 9, 2025, at 1:45 pm.
