Ajesh Kurup, 38, of Philadelphia, PA, passed away on April 21, 2025, in his hometown. Born on August 28, 1986, at Delaware County Memorial Hospital in Upper Darby, PA, Ajesh was a cherished son, a loyal and loving younger brother, and Amelia and Leo’s favorite fun and happy “Chippappa.” He graduated from Central High School in 2004. He continued his education, graduating from The University of the Sciences in Philadelphia with a degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences. Ajesh went on to establish a career in the health field, working most recently at the Greater Philadelphia Health Action organization.
Ajesh had a heart that was always open and a presence that made everyone feel seen and cared for. He was deeply devoted to his parents, always showing up for them with kindness, respect, and love. He was known for being the center of the party and making everyone around him laugh. His family and friends meant the world to him, and he made sure they knew it — not just in words, but in the many quiet and selfless ways he gave of himself.
Ajesh was an avid sports fan who loved his Philadelphia teams and his city. The Eagles and Phillies championships were some of his fondest memories as he celebrated with his closest family and friends.
He will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him, leaving a lasting imprint on the hearts of his loved ones and a void in our family. His memory lives on in his niece and nephew’s laughter, in the love of his family and friends, and in every game, victory, and shared celebration we honor in his name.
Ajesh is survived by his parents, Vasudeva and Sulochana, brother Anish, sister-in-law Soju, and his niece Amelia and nephew Leo.
Rest in peace, Ajesh. You were selfless, steadfast, and deeply loved. You will never be forgotten.
