
Anne H Jewell was born in Kentucky on June 20, 1936, to Thurman Winston Haynie and Eridyce Clark Haynie (later Dickerson). Her father worked for Gordon Truck Lines and was active with Eastern Star and the Masons. After her parents separated, she moved with her mother to Philadelphia and graduated from West Philadelphia High School in January 1956. In 1973, she married Ezra Jewell; they lived in Bensalem, PA. Anne volunteered at the Livengrin Addiction Treatment Center and was active with Feasterville Community Church. Anne enjoyed traveling with friends, including to Egypt (1989), Alaska (1994), and Las Vegas (2018). Ezra died in 1999, and Anne continued to live in the Northeast Philadelphia suburbs, at various locations. She died at Legacy Gardens in Bristol, PA, on March 3, 2026. Her ashes are interred with Ezra’s in Forest Hills Cemetery in Bensalem, along with those of her beloved dog Pumpkin. She is survived by a stepson, Juan Jewell, a step granddaughter, Elisabeth Jewell Cozzens Guthrie, and four step great grandchildren.
