She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Nancy, and her brothers, Glenn and Donald “Duck.”
Debbie is survived by her devoted husband, Chris S.; her four sons, Christopher (Sarah), Matthew (Antonia), Craig (Jenna), and David (Sarah); her beloved 12 grandchildren—Noah, Tessa, Amaya, Emerson, Matthew, Abigail, Christopher Joseph “CJ,” Jianna, Addison, Allie, Harper, and Henry—her brother Michael and cousin Karen Simms (Putney), as well as many extended family members and dear friends.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Debbie will be remembered for her unwavering love for her husband, children, grandchildren, her infectious sense of humor, radiant smile, and joy-filled laughter. She made everyone feel welcome, loved, and heard, leaving a lasting impact on those blessed to know her.
Debbie held many cherished titles throughout her life: devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, dear friend, and caregiver. Her greatest joys in life were her faith, her family, and bringing laughter into the lives of those around her.
Debbie met the love of her life, Chris, in Northeast Philadelphia, where she worked at Burger King. ("Mom always said she knew how to make a proper Whopper!") After a whirlwind romance, they married in 1976 and spent 48 beautiful years building a home filled with love, laughter, and endless memories alongside their four sons.
Her love for her husband was surpassed only by her love for Jesus Christ, whom she faithfully served for decades.
After graduating from George Washington High School in 1975, Debbie began her career with the Internal Revenue Service before dedicating herself full-time to raising her family. As a proud “domestic engineer,” she poured her heart into her children’s lives. She never missed a practice, game, or school event, often coaching or cheering from the sidelines. Debbie’s ability to strike up a conversation with anyone she met led to lifelong friendships formed during those countless practices and games.
In her later years, Debbie found a love for bowling, where she became a dedicated member of her league. She also enjoyed working out at Curves, where, unsurprisingly, her conversations blossomed into deep friendships.
Her sense of humor was legendary. Whether squirting her children and grandchildren with water guns or driving her car with bananas in her hands (a story her family loves to tell), Debbie’s playful spirit brought joy to everyone around her.
Debbie’s laughter, smile, and boundless love once filled every room she entered. Though her absence leaves a deep silence, her family finds comfort in knowing she would want them to heal through prayer, laughter, and love.
A public visitation for Debbie will be held Thursday, January 16, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Lamb Funeral Home Inc., 101 Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania 19006, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM where family and friends will celebrate Debbie’s incredibly beautiful and impactful life.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Chris and Debbie Mullen LGP Scholarship Fund at Haycock Camping Ministries in Debbie’s honor at:
