Elane M Russell

Elane M. Ewing Russell passed away surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne. She was 87 years of age. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Alma Lounser Kraus. She was a longtime Feasterville resident.

Mrs. Russell was retired employee of Stan’s Market in Bensalem and Trevose Shop N Bag. After her retirement as a cashier she was employed by Dr. Jay Schwartz at Knights Dental Care for 19 years as an insurance clerk.

She worshiped at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Philadelphia. She enjoyed travel, sewing, and trip to the casinos. She also enjoyed playing the organ.

Elane was the beloved wife of Orin Ewing for 27 years before his death in 1973 and Robert Russell for 8 years before his death in 1985. She was the devoted mother of Darlene Thurnau (Joseph) of Oakford, Dennis Ewing (Barbara) of Feasterville; step-mother of Joseph Russell (Leslie) of Hatfield. She was the loving grandmother of Sharon Stanford (Darrin), Kim Thurnau, Bryan Thurnau (Dana Brightcliffe), Samantha Ewing, Sabrina Ewing, Tim Wyrauch, Robert Russell, and Julianna Russell; great grandmother of Kori Stanford, Kevin, Colin, and Braeden Thurnau.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, October 7th from 7 to 9 PM and on Monday, October 8th from 10 to 11 AM at the Lamb Funeral Home, 101 Byberry Rd. Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006. Her service will follow at 11 AM.

Her interment will take place in Whitmarsh Memorial Park in Ambler.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
