Irene A. Mitchell

Irene A. Mitchell died on Monday, January 20, 2014 at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne. She was 85 years of age. Born in Muhlenberg PA, she was the daughter of the late Shadrack and Sarah Caroline Gregory. Irene was a Trevose resident for 63 years.

Irene Mitchell was retired longtime employee of the Bensalem School District. Irene was very family oriented and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren; she also enjoyed sewing, cooking and trips to the casinos.

Irene was the beloved wife of Warren J. Mitchell for 25 years before his death in 1975 and devoted mother of Carolann Lichtfus; Linda I. Christian of Ewa Beach, HI; Wendy J. Morrison and Warren J. Mitchell (both of Trevose, PA). Irene was the loving grandmother of Jason Lichtfus; Aaron Lichtfus (and wife, Missy Lichtfus); Emily Saxon; Melissa Christian; Seth Lichtfus (and wife, Shanna); Breynn Morrison (and partner, Anthony Coccia); David Morrison and is also survived by nine great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to her service at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 24th at the Lamb Funeral Home, 101 Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006. The family will receive friends for 8:30 AM until the time of service. Her interment will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the Senior Care Centers of America, 720 Johnsville Blvd # 1300, Warminster, PA 18974.
