Roberta W. Manning of Southampton, died on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at the St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, at the age of 99. Born in Warriors Mark, PA, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Harry C. and Anna W. Wilson. Roberta was a longtime resident of Southampton, PA and Leigh Acres, FL.
After working as a chemist at the Frankford Arsenal during WW II, Roberta was an active homemaker. She was a founder and member of the Church of the Redemption, Southampton, where she was an active member of the Altar Guild and a member of Daughters of the King. Roberta was a member of the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution).
When living in Leigh Acres, FL, Roberta was a Candy Striper and a hospice volunteer. She was also an avid golfer.
Roberta was the beloved wife of Dr. Henry P. Manning Jr. for fifty- two years, before his death in July, 1996. She was the devoted mother to E. Lee M. Gardner, Aledo, TX, Henry P. Manning III, Elizabethtown, PA, and Robert W. Manning of Southampton, PA. She was the loving grandmother of Troy D. Yoder, Charles H. Gardner IV, Robert C. Manning, Laura C. Morris and Gregory S. Manning. She was the great grandmother of Madelyn L. and McKenzie G. Morris and Charles H. Gardner V. Roberta was predeceased by her sisters: Lois Fisher, Mary Wilson, Jenny Schoff, Anna Wade Raup, Anntina Zitterman and her brother, John Wilson. She is survived by her sister, Joan Hample, of Bellwood, PA.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, November 9, 2018 from 10 to 11 AM at the Church of the Redemption Church, 1101 2nd St Pike, Southampton, PA 18966. Her Memorial Service will follow at 11 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Roberta Manning's name to the American Cancer Society.
