Allen Dale Hoffman Jr.

Allen “Dale” Hoffman, Jr., 56 of Huntington passed away peacefully on Monday, March 25, 2019 at his residence. Dale worked as a commercial pilot, flight instructor and aircraft mechanic. He worked in the family business, Hoffman Flying Service as well as in restoration at the Tri-State Warbird museum in Cincinnati. He worked at Al’s Arial Spraying for the Department of Agriculture and was the shop foreman at the award winning restoration shop, Midwest Texan as well as a contractor for FEDEX. Dale loved airplanes, hunting, woodworking, craftsmanship, the outdoors and working on models. He also enjoyed Jeeps, kayaking, animals and gardening. Dale was born on April 20, 1962 in Bay City, Michigan, the son of Allen D. and Betsy K. (Beaudoen) Hoffman, Sr. Survivors include his parents: Allen and Betsy Hoffman, Sr. of Cheboygan, MI; two sons: Allen D. (Brianna) Hoffman III of Huntington; Marc Hoffman of Huntington; three stepdaughters: Kylee Foust of Huntington; Brittany Blackstone of Huntington, and Jesse(Justin) Phillips; a stepson: Ross (Ashley) Richards; two brothers: Troy Hoffman of Bois Blanc Island, MI; Christopher (Casey) Hoffman of Cheboygan, MI; Fiancé: Teresa Foust of Huntington; five grandchildren, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins He was preceded in death by a brother: Steven Hoffman. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 4:00 pm with Pastor Zen Hess officiating at the St. Peter’s First Church, 206 Etna Ave. Huntington. A gathering of family and friends will be held following the memorial service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made out to The Hoffman Family or to St. Peter’s First Church both in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
