Ben Leroy Mathews, 65 of Huntington, passed away at his residence Saturday, March 26, 2022. In his spare time, Ben enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Cubs play. Due to being very mechanical, Ben had the innate ability to fix things in his own way. Ben was an extremely hard worker; most of his career was working for Frito- Lay in Beloit, Wisconsin. He was very passionate and steadfast in his beliefs and stayed true to his convictions. Ben was a graduate of Millen High School in Millen, WI and loved going to auctions.
Ben was born on December 24, 1956 in Wolfsburg, Germany, the son of William and Barbara (Crowe) Mathews.
Ben is survived by two sons: Jacob (Maria) Mathews of Bullhead City, AZ and Zach (Bonnie) Mathews of Orange, CA; parents: Bill and Barbara Mathews of Ft. Wayne, IN: a brother; Ed (Theresa) Mathews of Columbia City, IN; two sisters: Bonnie Baird of WI and Betsy (Mike) Brown of Monroe, WI; a granddaughter: Ellenor Mathews.
Ben was preceded two brothers: William and Mark Mathews; his sister: Marie Mathews.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, April 3, 2022 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
