Jack M. Wilson, 91 of Warren and formerly of Huntington passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Wesleyan Healthcare Center in Marion. Jack was born in 1928, the son of Lucille and John Wilson. He was preceded in death by a sister: Colleen, and a brother: Charles. His sister Naomi, resides in Tennessee.
Jack married Emilie and had two daughters, Susan and Sarah, and were grandparents to five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Jack served his country honorably as a WWII veteran enlisting in the Navy at the age of seventeen and later served in the Marines and lastly the Army as a paratrooper. Following military service, he worked as a switchman for the railroad and later for Sunday Visitor/Noll Printing as a journeyman printer until his retirement.
Emilie preceded Jack in death and in her honor he established the Huntington Community Foundation, 2 4 Golf Scholarship Fund to assist with HNHS student’s continuing education. Jack and Emilie were avid golfers making lifetime friends who shared their passion. Jack can claim five hole-in-ones in his lifetime. After Emilie’s passing he cherished visits with his best friends and their frequent visits to Whopper Wednesday.
A celebration of life will be shared at the family cottage in Michigan later this summer.
