John M. Allred 81, of Huntington passed away at 7:41am on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Heritage Pointe in Warren. John was a 1955 graduate of Lancaster High school. He was a lifelong farmer in Huntington County and was a part-time driver for Hiner Trucking in Huntington. John enjoyed traveling, especially to Branson, Missouri and researching his family genealogy. John was born on January 21, 1937 in Huntington, the son of Merritt and Margaret (Anderson) Allred. Survivors include: four sons: Steve (Tammy) Allred of Huntington, Tom (Cindy) Allred of Huntington, Greg (Nikki) Allred of Fort Wayne and Brian (Stacey) Allred of Yorktown, two daughters: Barbara Stoffel of Huntington, Carolyn (Russ) Walberry of Huntington, a sister: Johanne “Susie” (Larry) Baade of Huntington, 17 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother: James Allred and two sons: Phillip Allred and Doug Allred. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 3, 2018 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at 10:00 am at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with Gerald O. Moreland officiating. Interment will be at the Mt. Etna Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made out to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or American Heart Association both in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
