John L. Morris Sr.

John L. Morris, Sr., 78 of Huntington passed away at 9:40 am on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at his residence. John was a 1959 graduate of Union High School. He worked for Fruehauf as a welder for 20 years before his retirement. He was a member of Bass Master’s for several years. John loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, trapping and playing golf. He was born on March 12, 1941 in Huntington, the son of Florin A. and Opal M. (Davis) Morris. He was united in marriage to Carolyn S. Bollan on August 1, 1965 in Indianapolis. Carolyn preceded him in death on January 13, 2018. Survivors include a daughter: Jennifer (Richard) Tilden of Warren; a son: John L. Morris, Jr. of Huntington; six grandchildren: Kassandra Humphrey, Rachel Zahm, Janessa Podojak, Katrina Garlick, Alexis Morris, Timothy Morris; three great grandchildren: Ashlynn Snyder, Camden Zahm and Dalton Zahm. He was preceded in death by two sisters: Betty Boyd and Patricia Holtzberg. There will be no public services. Private family graveside service will be at the Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made out to Cancer Services of Huntington in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
