June Richard Walker, age 78, of Huntington, Indiana passed away on Friday, April 4, 2025 at Parkview Huntington Hospital. June was a sheet metal worker at Majestic Co. in Huntington for 40 years. He loved to play horseshoes, fish, and spend time with his friends and family. He was a member of the First Brethren Church, the Huntington Moose Lodge, VFW post 2689, and the American Legion post 160. June loved his children and grandchildren dearly. He was known as the candy man because he loved to pass out tootsie rolls and Werthers to make people smile. He was the greatest father anybody could ask for and was simply the sweetest man on earth.
June was born on September 2, 1946 in Gary IN, a son of the late Everett and Betty (Burley) Walker.
He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Janet Lusch on March 3, 1966 in Huntington. They were married for 56 years when she preceded him in death on March 20, 2022.
Survivors include three daughters: Pam (Dale) Howell of Huntington, Jill (Tony) Newsome of Andrews, and Kim Walker of Gas City; a sister: Nora (Frank) Smith of Albion; a brother: Steve (Debbie) Honey of Carson NV; eleven grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two sons: Everett Walker, and Terry Walker; and two brothers: Jim Walker and Butch Honey.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday April 10, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, Located at 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington IN 46750.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday April 11, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with one hour of calling prior to the service at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel.
