Leonard M. Rowley, 80 of Huntington, passed away on Tuesday evening, September 9, 2025 at The Waters of Huntington. Leonard grew up in North Carolina. He served his country in the United States Navy for 28 years. During his tenure he was stationed and served in Morocco, Italy, and up and down the Eastern Coast of the United States. After retiring from the Navy he spent the last 18 years in Huntington, where he spent time working for his son at Mike's Tree Service. He attended College Park United Brethren Church and enjoyed fishing and watching westerns.
Leonard was born on February 10, 1945 in Roseboro, North Carolina, a son of the late Arthur G. and Margaret (Ellis) Rowley.
He was united in marriage to Jo Ann Drew on September 4,1966 in North Carolina. His wife survives in Huntington.
Additional survivors include a three sons: Mike (Terra) Rowley of Huntington, Mark Rowley of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Todd Rowley of Orlando, Florida; a daughter: Shannon Rowley of Jacksonville Beach, Florida; Nine grandchildren: Beverly Rowley of Huntington, Wallace (Kaalee) Rowley of Huntington, Craig Rowley of Huntington, James Stoner of Huntsville, Alabama, David Reynolds of Indianapolis, Lauren Bitzel of Columbia City, Hunter Snyder of Huntington, Liberty Tabor of Warsaw and Justice Tabor of Huntington. A great grandchild Delilah Rowley of Huntington.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Arthur Rowley.
A family memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at College Park United Brethren Church.
