Margaret K. Draper, 95 of Huntington passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2020 at Heritage Point of Huntington. Margaret was a 1943 graduate of Huntington High School. She was a homemaker. She was a life member since 1953 of Women of the Moose Chapter 255 in Huntington, member of WIBC Bowling Association, life member of American Legion Post 7, life member of the VFW Post 2689, and a member of Etna Acres Golf Course for 47 years. Margaret was a member of Central Christian Church and was an avid card player, golfer and bowler.
She was born on December 30, 1924 in Birmingham, Michigan, the daughter of the late Paul and Margaret (Lowman) Weiford.
She was united in marriage to Corwin A. “Corky” Draper on July 17, 1943 in Huntington. Corwin preceded her in death on December 17, 2014.
Survivors include three sons: Donald C. Draper of Irving, TX, David P. (Lucy) Draper of Columbia City, Robert D. (Ronda) Draper of Santa Clarita, CA; a daughter: Susan L. Draper of Huntington; a brother: Hervey (Barb) Weiford of Roanoke; a sister: Carolyn J. Shaw of Indianapolis; five grandchildren: Jessica Draper, Jason (Mary Rose) Draper, Mary Beth (Brad) Schuman, Joel Umbaugh, Julie Umbaugh and six great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 from 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana. We will be following the CDC’s guidelines for Social Distancing and Social Gathering Limits.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at 10:00 am with one hour of visitation prior to the service at the funeral home.
Interment will be at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Huntington County.
